Serving the Lima, OH area!
We put the "care" in dental care.
"I was raised in Lima, Ohio and graduated from Lima Senior High School. A dental visit to Dr. Ken Clemens when I was in high school so made an impression on me that I decided then and there that I wanted to become a dentist and I set my goals toward that profession.
My education started at the Lima Campus of the Ohio State University, where I did my undergrad, then after being accepted into dental school, moved to Columbus to attend the Ohio State University College of Dentistry, which I completed in 1972.
Upon getting my dental license, I did two years in the United States Army Dental Corps at Ft. Campbell, Kentucky. I then came back to Lima to start my career in private practice and went into partnership with Dr. Ken Clemens and Dr. Bob Mackey. I was in practice with them at the Allentown Road location from 1974 to 2007.
After retiring, my wife and I did some traveling and I played golf, but something was missing. I missed the personal interactions with my patients. So I began working first with a company called Smile Care, a mobile team unit going to schools in Ohio providing dental exams, X-rays, dental cleanings, and sealants to children who otherwise may not get to see a dentist.
Then in 2010, I worked as a civilian dentist for six months for the U.S. Army at Ft. Bragg, North Carolina. Taking care of the Armed Forces told me I still had not only the skills to do excellent dentistry, but also the passion.
I returned to see if any opportunities would present themselves here back home. In November 2014, an opportunity developed to open my own private dental practice again.
I love what I do and have tried to create a warm, friendly environment for myself, for my staff, and most importantly for my patients. I welcome all new and former patients, and I would be happy to be of service for your dental needs."
Thank you for the opportunity,
Dr. Joe A. Patton
